MAY 29, 2012 LAST NEWSLETTER FOR THE YEAR! THE SYSTEM USED LSTA FUNDS TO PURCHASE QIALITY, NONFICTION TITLES IN ALL AREAS TO BE USED BY STUDENTS AND TEACHERS.
RONDA'S CORNER
What a beautiful weekend we just had! Quick CCD update---- all requested titles have been ordered. Hopefully they will arrive before school ends for the summer.
I've been very busy cataloging several new books into Medianet. I have them listed below. They are all non-fiction titles. Click the title to visit Medianet for more information on any of the titles. Use the browser's back button to return to this page.
My favorite was Throw Your Tooth on the Roof that has all kinds of different traditions for what is done with a tooth after the child loses it. I'm thankful I grew up believing in the toothfairy! It could have been a rat coming in my room for the tooth or I might have been wearing earrings made from my teeth (eeewwwww).
Barbara Stripling is a former system director from New York City and is now President Elect of ALA and assistant professor at Syracuse University. This is her presentation at a School Boards Institute at CNY. Here is a videotaping of Barb's presentation: http://www.moboces.org/index.cfm?CID=618
